Idk with other's culture but... Is being a virgin that taboo?

I find it romantic and pure when a character's saving their virginity for their love one (I mean not just sleep with random people)

I also won't to judge characters who love to sleep around.

But... why are they afraid to admit they were virgin to their lovers? I personally lloved knowing that I was my boyfriend's first time.

its not taboo so much as something they consider embarassing
they want to have a good time with their partners without any slip ups (or in a virgins case, coming too fast)
though thats for fictional characters usually, i think most people dont care if someones a virgin or not in this day and age

Most shoujo mangas I've read was like

If you're dating a month or two already , its weird if you guys didn't have sex. So i got this conclusion that in japan, maybe that's an unspoken rule? Also, most of the highschool student have already an experience so yeah... Or maybe thats only in manga world? (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

Also in yaoi world, its better to be not a virgin cuz you already have an experience and it will go smoothly if your partner has experience specially if your on the receiving end. Cuz we all know, first time hurts so yeah, we gotta be careful to not let down our partner.

In Iran (I don't know about other Middle East countries) if you're a girl and you're not a virgin when while getting married, you're gonna face a lot of legal problems like your husband can sue you because you're not a virgin!
And also other problems even if you're not gonna marry, you have to face a lot of social problems if others find out about this.
And it's so frustrating if a girl has sex before marriage, other will look at her like she's a whore, but for boys, it's like they're gonna be proud among they're friends
We young people trying to fix this problem in our country, but it seems so hard because of our country culture and religion
(This virgin taboo is even token more seriously in lower social classes and more religious families and regions)

In our country, premarital sex is not illegal but it is highly recommended to save your virginity after you got married, men or women. Its a conservative country witg lots of christians and religious ancestors, grandparents and parents. But today, i think its getting a bit liberated cuz of american influence and teenage pregnancy is kinda a problem now.

But let me say that there's still a lot of people who value this tradition /moral (of losing one's virginity after marriage) cause since birth it was ingrained to our brains and heart by the eleders.

    I know
    Kinda like the sexual revolution
But lack of information and protection lead to many problems like teenage pregnancy (as you said) and increase of STD
You know, here children don't get any kind of education about their gender and sexual health
