Hwa is the son of the couple you're talking about. This whole new set of people and plot are kinda like a sequel or a huge sidestory. It doesn't center the 1st couple at the start, this is basically the life story of their son this time.
Okay so, this is not the same couple with the child. This is the Child and his relarionship. They are different about it because the first couple decided to move back to Korea and Hwa now goes to college there. Since they are back Hwa now has to act different about his relationship with his partner.

Can someone fill me in? Is this the same couple that had the baby? Where's he at? And where tf are they at at now to be acting so different about their relationship? Who are these new people they're around? cause before they used to be pretty confident about it their relationship like "yeah. This man is my wife and father to my child, you got a problem?"
