Hmm I see where you’re coming from since it did come off as a bit strange especially that she would wear a short dress in cold weather. But I think since she already did something like wearing trousers and people called it a trend-setter that they wouldn’t be surprised about whatever she comes up with next. Also, the King/Emperor’s approval?? probably made sure people don’t say anything. There might also be the fact that she chose the color red because it stands out in the winter (cuz hmm fire ig?)... it just kinda makes sense (●'◡'●)ﾉ
She broke the traditions by dressing almost nude (for those people). It certainly is beautiful, but it would've been better if she'd have worn a long dress or a pretty ancestor dress. It's not like winter fashion isn't beautiful. Sure, it's the authors work, but i think that world isn't too different from ours and if you act that scandalous you'll get backlash.
I know this isn't exactly the same as our world but sati already pulled a power move by wearing men's clothing. Now she's wearing a knee long dress?? Realistically she'd be shunned and called promiscuous. All other women are wearing dresses to their feet, going like that is like going naked. In the past even showing your ankles was considered shameful. She already went too far by wearing sth that their ancestors totally didn't wear. The idea was good but she's breaking a tradition and looking like a kinky santa girl
