First, Ed CAn become guaranter not because of LEGAL debts but because of ILLEGAL debts. You think those in the mafia, yakuza, triad, etc give a crap's ass about legal stuff?? You got a debt and you die, your living legacy now carries that debt. In that case, Ed was in debt. And yes, chang decided to take over that debt. HOWEVER, he continued to use that debt to manipulate and control ed. THAT is what was wrong with Chang and his decisions.
Second. You're really out here blaming the victim for not crying "loud enough", running "fast enough", acting "well enough", in a situation that a RAPIST is causing??? No, we aint out here trying to justify rape by any means. I dont give a rat's ass if Ed even agreed to have sex then refused in the middle of it. CONSENT ins consent. Therefore, the moment he refused is the moment the consent was taken away. Chang had NO RIGHT to force sex on ed. Have you ever heard of Marital Rape??? Literally your husband/wife/spouse can still rape you even if they "love" you. Your consent is still consent.
NOW, feel free to like Chang all you want. Maybe he's hot. maybe he's miunderstood. Maybe he'll get a redemption arc. You don't have to feel bad for simply liking a villanous character.
HOWEVER, don't go around enabling his vicious and WRONG behavior. That does nothing for anyone but ruin things. Like Chang, do it and be ok with it. Don't victim blame and make up excuses for horrific acts.

Ok sorry but I found your post too funny. You didn't understand OP at all but you are making some nasty accusations and projecting some issues. They aren't victim blaming or defending Chang's horrific acts.
They are pointing how illogical and poorly written the plot and Chang's character are. The plot holes. How it doesn't make bigger sense. That at this point Chang is some cheap plot device which at times is just ridiculous and definitely his character or storyline could have been written better.
