as his undercover spying mission has been discovered this part is not I focus on because he most likely either go into hiding or relieved from hero work T_T but you do have a point... we need more info about his quirk and as his wings is main part of it with it burned he is considered crippled T_T
I actually don't believe it's over for him yet. For me it seems to be the same case as with Mirio. Both characters got a lot of attention and got crucial tasks assigned to them during their missions, the author wouldn't do so if he planned to cast them aside soon after or he would just kill them instantly. Even if he's crippled, if not Recovery Girl, then Eri can restore him just like she will restore Mirio at some point.
I've got the feeling there's still some character developement planned for Hawks and I'm more concerned about his mental state after waking up. The fact that he killed twice (in my opinion rather once) even though he aspired to be another kind of hero will be heavy on him, it's possible that he starts doubting himself and maybe he doesn't even want to be a hero anymore. Although I don't believe that Best Jeanist is dead either, since I can't imagine them to sacrifice one of their heroes just for the cause. And Hawks was way too calm before and after that, while in Twice's case he hesitated until the bitter end. He isn't someone who goes around killing left and right just because he's forced to do so, since he has the same kind of aura around him like Deku, Bakugou, Shoto and co.
Also, we don't know yet what the answer was that Dabi gave him regarding his question who the hell he is. Judging by his expression it was a quite shocking answer. On top of that they seem to know each other, or else Dabi wouldn't know his real name. I've got a premonition that there will be something happening between Hawks, Endeavour and Dabi.
To be honest I'm not even sure if he will survive this battle or the wounds he has right now.
The thing with Hawks is, he plays an important role for Dabi because:
1) he's the only one who knows Dabi's identity, which is obviously very important later on
2) he used to be an Endeavour fan and is now working with him. So Hawks will connect Dabi and Endeavour (Touya theory) which is also very very important if the Dabi/Touya theory is true.
So that's actually reasons why he will survive. But on the other hand, those are also reasons for Dabi to kill Hawks.
Dabi most likely only told Hawks his true identity because he was just about to kill him anyways. Dabi didn't expect Hawks to be saved last minute. That's why I believe Hawks will either be killed by Dabi sooner or later or die because of the burnings he suffers right now.
Of course there's always the possibility that he dies, I don't hope so because he's one of my favorites but only Horikoshi Sensei knows.
But there's still something odd.... Hawks and Dabi "worked together" a while back. Why going out of his way letting Hawks infilitrate them when he never trustet him in the first place? The way he just adressed him by his real name out of nowhere even though he laid down this name when he was still a child assumes that he knew him from the start. And most certainly he knew what Hawks was up to, so he could've killed him during their meeting after Endeavours Battle with the High End if this was his only intention. But no...instead he let him infiltrate the PLF and even told him his identity, just to kill him right after? No, there's something more about Dabi and Hawks than it seems. Either way Hawks will play an important role, whether he dies or not after that is another question.

I do agree though. It is extremely suspicious that he just let Hawks in despite knowing him previously. It just doesn’t make sense. Unless he wants tomura to lose so that he can take the top rank for himself among the group. We’ll see...
So I’ve been thinking about how hawks will end up from here on out now that his entire back and wings have been burnt to a crisp (chapter:272ish) and from my view I hate to say it but his quirk is PROBABLY done for. I obviously hope NOT but here’s my reasoning:
-Back when he killed best jeanist he had a conversation with him beforehand and jeanist told him “you can’t recover what has been lost” when he was talking about how one of his lungs was lost due to the battle, even though recovery girl healed him.
-back when endeavor fought the high end his FEATHERS were burned but shortly afterward he revealed that it’s ok, because his feathers can grow back within a day. Not once did he mention if his actual winged limbs can grow back if they’ve been severely damaged which if so, YAY OBVIOUSLY, but if not, then he’s pretty much out of commission.
-from what we know, Dabi’s fire quirk is even more powerful than endeavors and Todoroki’s since pretty much all of his skin has been burned off so this might mean that the damage will be too great to recover from even if recovery girl heals Hawks.
I do have two ways though that might mean he’ll be alright and able to recover his wings:
-with time Eri can rewind the damage done and give him back his wings, in which case he’ll probably do some other kind of work involving the case until another crucial battle arises and all of a sudden he’s got his wings back and swoops in to save the day
OR
-recovery girl heals him and he reveals that his winged limbs can also regrow, which is what I’m really hoping for.
What do you guys think? Thoughts? More theories? Honestly Hawks is too important of a character in my opinion for Horikoshi to kill off but who knows....
