They do it so they can remove it once it gets licenced. If it ends up on mangago there is almost Zero chance of it being taken down and the mangaka will lose money of Official english translation sales
maybe i'm a little crazy or something but i DO really buy things i already read because i know for a fact that they are worth my money (especially on physical form)... so that though didnt cross my head, but its a good point, i guess!
Well for me (and I think most people) the problem is that they simply have no means to buy the original or translated work. Honestly if I had better shipping services and didn't have to fear of losing things in the mail maybe I would buy manga online. Translation in my native language is out of question because AoT is only on chapter 7 and the translation started 5 freaking years ago! Licencing is a shitty and pain fully long job that most publishing companies don't want to do for such small profit and nice of people that buy it.
Same to my country! I prefer the physical version in japanese but, let me tell you if you get a couple at the same time and use a shipping method that has full online tracking/insurance you save lots of money! That why i buy them only once a year and also it gaves me time to fully think if i really need to have it! In renta for the digital on english, you can buy a full volume for less than $10! I know its so hard to earn money but... ah having them in my hands really brings me joy lmao! Thats why i love having them on here, so more people can get a chance instead of not even knowing of the existence of said BL!
To the Group: People saying that they won't be finishing a BL when its not in here its because its troublesome keeping track of every group and every BL (since most of them arent completed) not out of anger. I was there years ago thats why i know it! So, even if its one year later or more after your releases i hope you allow your works on here someday~
