Well, actually flowers can be eaten. It depends on the kind but roses can be eaten. You can even make jam out of it.
I know a recipe where you sugarcoat the petals before eating them :)
When a work of fiction shows a character eating something that isn't suppose to be eaten by real people but it looks good. Me with that rose, a flower sounds good right about now
