Yeah, that is the one trope that always confuses me. I am Caucasian and from the US and I don’t know ANYONE who gives kisses as greetings, unless it is a VERY close family member giving a peck on the cheek or forehead to a child. I mean, seriously. If someone I had just met tried to kiss me on the lips, I’d try to deck them.
And if it is in gratitude, again, only close friends or family do that and again, it’s always on the cheek. I would love to know where this trope came from.
Even tho I’m Asian too but from the south east Asia and I’m cringing like bruh foreigners dun kiss ppl on the lips as greeting
From what I remember it’s the French or Italian and they only do it on the cheek or something
Idk I just feel weird like is this how Japanese ppl view blonde dude lol
We have like American or British teachers who come here once a while to teach English and I can see they are not as HAHAHAH LET’S HAVE FUN AND KISS ON MOUTH AS GREETING EVEN TO STRANGER Some of them actually pretty cold lol
Makes me wonder what ppl perceive southeast asians as lol
