I usually feel the same but the relationship so far has verry little effect on anything or on the characters it almost as if they aren't in a relationship but that likely due to the character of clan, she doesnt act like most girls in manga so it makes sense :)
I'm at chapter 890 in the novel. I did not read It from chapter 1, i jumped from Manhwa to there, and I must say that romance isn't a driving force for him. Not really. You will have to deal with his blind patriotism, but not romance and jealousy.
If you do like the story, I would recommend reading the novel. There are some plot twist and really smart moves in this novel

Sorry, I am dropping this. I stayed so far since there was no romance yet. But, now that it came Chapter 212 Pg 9. I am so disappointed since there was no 'Romance' tag. I fucking hate ML falling in love cuz it just makes them dumb and stupid. Pointless jealousy, misunderstanding etc etc.
