I think it was implied the doc was crazy in his own right. Or had his own biases. Like I think he had a personal grudge against the father. He probably knew the father was dead so there was no reason to hide Yuuto, but he did anyway. It was also implied something happened in, I think it was 7th grade, that made Ryou's claustrophobia go into overdrive. Thats the one thing that still confuses me about this story. It felt really heavily implied that the grandfather was malicious in some way, and that both kids have been forced to forget something about him. Its rhe only mystery I felt remained unanswered.
The story was really confusing and it seems like parts were just jumped over but I get the gist of the story I just feel like it would be much more enjoyable if it was explained better I also think that the art was okay but not the best I've ever seen on the point of the story which I found hilarious is that this guy who basically thought he was crazy his whole life and had everyone tell him he was crazy could have easily been solved when he was a child with a simple conversation with the grandfather instead of dragging away his only childhood friend he could have just sit them both down and had a conversation and it kind of makes me pissed because I seen doctors treat their patients like this in terms of psychotherapy where they don't believe that their patients will understand them so they force them to do something
