Compared to Risa (From Coffee & Vanilla), she’s a superstar. Plus she’s dealing with a guy who has a history of being a player (Risa did NOT have to deal with this), so her being unsure of herself is understandable. Plus while she may have been asleep at the time, during one of C&V’s side chapters Taakaki did say that he had intended to make her fall for him and then dump her; so I’d say good on her for being unsure of what he really feels. Because he has yet to say, to her face, that he loves her.

But anyways don’t get me wrong, I still like both girls but they both got their flaws. I’m not really concerned over natsuki’s self-esteem since that’s pretty relatable seeing the guy akutsu is, I’m mainly thinking more about how she would try to not be too into him but still be head over heels for him. It’s probably my own preference but I’d rather see an MC who doesn’t flip their feelings back and forth and just stay on one or the other side (like do you hate him or love him?) but either way it’s still not that big of an issue to me tbh.

That uno dude gotta chill out. Yeah he was sweet and innocent-like at first but I don’t think I’m into his personality much. His crush on her comes on too strong, especially when she hasn’t shown any romantic interest in him. It’s one of those cases where you try to be nice to a person, but don’t intend to lead them on. Anyways a really big no is when uno just kissed natsuki when she was dozing off. Tbh if it were me I’d be pisssssed.
I can relate to natsuki, cause a similar case happened to me, where I only wanted to be nice to my co-worker, but they ended up getting the wrong idea. Lmao it’s especially weird when he was in his 20s and I was still in high school.
On another note: I like natsuki and akutsu together, they’re quite cute. Though they definitely got some issues, like natsuki’ s low self-esteem, and akutsu’s flirty personality. But they aren’t perfect. I gotta say tho, I’m not really into the way the author makes their female leads. I’m gonna be brutally honest that natsuki and rise definitely aren’t my favorite female leads I’ve seen. Risa is a bit too kind and soft spoken for me, and natsuki is a bit too much of a tsundere in my opinion. Like risa would let her friend have a chance with her man, cause she’s too nice, and natsuki would constantly be mad at akutsu but totally all over him when they’re alone.
