I think soo-won is really smart.
He could have thought of a way to change rulers/ protect the kingdom without resorting to murder, but he still decided to do so.
He even told Yona that he just got revenge- so what, are you telling your childhood friend "I wanted to give you the pain of being an orphan and being betrayed. Being robbed of everything you knew, I did that willingly for vengeance"
If THAT was a lie, if he did it for some bigger cause, then he didn't need to lie to her, to give her this insanely hurtful lie
