I have someone in real life doing this to me. Just when I think we might be on amicable terms, she backstabs. Thankfully, the building is big enough I can ignore her most of the time.
I think Evan's problem is the same as hers. It is a knee-jerk reflex to protect themselves from wrong-doing. Evan is used to being above Niro and he won't let that go. If he just admitted straight up he didn't care what happened at home and he was following the rules of others to rise to the top, it would make him weak. He can't be weak to Go to, who has always been below him. So despite wanting to be the best on his own power, he realizes his chances are better to accept his class privilege and he swallows his pride on the matter.
(Except with the creepy headmistress banging. That is super gross.)
I'm so wishy washy man. I hate Evan, he's trash and I don't really think he can ever make up for all the stuff he's done. But just a small teeny tiny part of me hopes he redeems himself.
Idk man, I'm confused. Sometimes I think he could eventually be a really decent character, but then I remember the way he's been acting and I want Niro to strangle him (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
