its like people just want to see the protagonists side of things

Honestly don't want here to be apart of this family when no one even athy herself can afford real love for her especially claude. She should just end up with her real father (family sense) than the one and only athy and claude ship (family sense) that people gone on about it and how jennette being a third wheel and what not. This way both sides can be happy without the toxic hate from a lot of the fans

what do you mean by "afford"? its simply athy's choice whether or not she wants to keep having a close relationship with jennette after all is said and done. maybe jennette will found out the truth someday.. but that doesnt mean they still cant be family afterwards. rather lets hope anatatious turns over a new leaf and gives up on his evil plans that way jennette will stop being turned into a scapegoat

In a sense, she knows that doing this is giving jennette more hope and in the end, jennette will get destroyed because of this. I agree with you it's her choice, but even then as someone who knows the plot and all I feel like this too much of closeness and almost family familiarity will destroy jennette in the end as it had in the real novel. Honestly what ur hoping for them being a family one day with break hell loose with all the fans with (athy&claude) the only ship. This hopefully doesn't happen but instead, jennette ends up with her real father.

"jennette will get destroyed because of this." Or they can open up to each other, find common ground, and work together to find a solution? (to the curse effecting both claude and jennettes existence) that will satisfy them both? going against the nature of the novel story setting which pits them against each other.. defying GOD (the author) I think that sounds more epic personally. Spoon said the webtoon wont go the way the novel did. so the direction the characters end up can be anything.. I too am hoping for a happy ending for them both either way
