The story is set in Taiwan (the author is taiwanese BTW), and here life is pretty much back to normal, we just have to put on masks to get on public transportation. So the author is not taking a big risk about the set up not being accurate with how things will go about masks!
Is this now September 2020? 2 months into the future? They're not wearing masks so hopefully, HOPEFULLY the Covid-19 is getting demolished. I have hopes. I can't believe I have hopes from a Covid-19 manga (=・ω・=)
