i'm also a lesbian and i get where you're coming from but i really wouldn't say straight fujoshis are as bad as straight guys fetishizing lesbians because there's a big power dynamic between men and woman in our society. women don't really have much of the actual power to oppress men by fetishizing them, it's kinda gross and cringe tho. but in a patriarchal society, men fetishizing women and lesbians has way more of an impact on women. you can even see the difference being that lesbians are basically just seen as porn and for men's entertainment in straight guy's eyes, while BL is a lot more romance driven and haven't affected men societally. all the issues in BL have the exact same issues in all genres of straight romance manga.
i honestly don't know really many ppl who read yaoi and aren't LGBT, i know they exist but a large amount of people who read it are LGBT or young and don't know yet. it would have taken me a lot longer to discover my sexuality if it wasnt for BL lol, because society had made sexuality so male focused and that was an easy way for me to discover - through men.
