No no no. That creepy shadow guy you mentioned is a mark hunter. Thus he was there to kill Zay. He is an evil being and can never have a mark.
I thought he wasnt meant to have the mark at all? Because he (SPOILER) sold his soul to the devil previously so now Zay is bearing double marks. In a few chapters ahead, the prince would notice Zay's mark is odd, but when he reached out to check, Asef stopped him. But idk tho since i also read spoilers. Idk if he'd eventually get his mark further into the story.

I also browsed raw manhwa and Aseph is jealous/skeptical that the prince might have the same seal as Zay's but luckily, it isn't so he sheathed his sword back. Turns out prince has the same seal as Lisa (Zay"' sister). It was cute that it was somehow love at first sight for them lol. Anyway, the chapter about him getting his mark/seal has yet to come. Huhu. I am also curious on why and how will he get a same mark as what Zay has. If only I can read the novel ╥﹏╥
You know you really have a point...it would make sense if Ellijay had both they're marks sense even the mark hunter states, "aren't we of the same kind?" Meaning those cursed by god...except that the god of love changed Aspeh's fate by introducing Ellijay to the world. But, I think it's ironic/cute that he's unknowingly jealous of his they should mate mark since he doesn't have one!
The Prince and the FL 's sister are soul mates. They are a couple. So you don't need to worry about the Prince.
