Don't know if i should laugh or be mad at the fact that about 90% of yaoi or BL manga the main characters try to convince you they "aren't gay", like constantly repeat how not homo they are, yet still go around shoving their dick in another guy by force. Who are you really trying to convince, buddy?
I guess it all comes down to the fact that being gay in Japan or any Asian country is seen as a bad thing still. And yaoi and bl just caters to those who fetishise same sex relationships but dont actually accept the realities of it. Tragic indeed. But at least there are some new stories out there where the characters openly embrace who they are and being gay is even seen as normal by their friends and family. Times are changing.
