It's just a preference, which I assume I'm allowed to have. It's not that I can't handle it, as I consume a lot of media that is a lot more disturbing than this manhwa's "attempt" at psychological drama. I simply do not find it to be a good story. I think that the minimal amount of praise that people give this story for it's superficial attempt at tackling the human psyche is vastly overshadowed by all the flaws that it has. I also believe it to be a toxic depiction of mental illness, but I won't get into that because I know most peoples' response to that is that "I just don't get it" which I do not believe to be true. It saddens me to see that this story has gotten as much praise and traction as it does, and that is a statement that I will continue to stand by. You're entitled to like it, and I'm entitled to dislike and critique it for the mediocre, toxic depiction it has on mental disorders and psychological drama.

Yeah, perhaps. But that's also just your opinion. And again, just because there are worse stories out there does not mean that this story cannot be critiqued. You won't really see me defending other crappy stories, so if your concern is that "this story is better than others" then don't worry, because I do also heavily criticise other trashy work. You're free to like it, but I do not think that this story deserves all the praise it gets, especially after its bleak, toxic, misinformed, and fetishised depiction of mental illness and homosexuality. But that's just my opinion :)

I've never called it yaoi nor have I ever treated it as a yaoi. I'm treating it as garbage, because that's what it is to me. I don't see it as a "clever psychological horror" in the slightest, and its attempt at being such is nothing but pretentious. I know most people disagree with this statement, which is fine, but that won't make me change my opinion on it.

Psychological horror is rarely ever clever. Remember this is a webtoon, by not a very reknowned artist, it's not a famous book or movie. To me it was really good though in some places it could've been made better but everything has its flaws. But please just tell me, if this was "pretentious" psychological horror, what do you consider actual psychological horror when it comes to manwhas?
Reading everyone's comments make me not want to read it .
