I think that what he meant was that he was lonely and a bit jelly (not romantically) because mc was spending all his free time with the bf and hasn't taken any time to spend with his friends. About it is ok if bf was a cute girl was probably because it would be okay since she is so cute the friend can't be mad at her, but because bf is a guy he is being a bit unreasonably pissed and sulking for being ignored.
