So Akira used Misato to get Satoshi's attention and threw him away. He was never in love with and was lying all along and then Misato used Mei to seek revenge on Satoshi who stole his lover and found he was used by Mei to forget his love for Satoshi.

I'm glad Mei is in love with Misato now but poor Misato suffering for losing his first love and being insecure. I mean his first love lied to him and he think the second too
