I think it's because the orginal villainess already spent money frivolously so it wouldn't be out of character for the main character to suddenly start spending money now.
I am thinking that it is her money that the Duke gave her as a reward for having heck neck cut.
Im confused its technically the dukes money does she have the right to just spend it so extravagantly without his permission?
