This is why I've stepped away from shoujo. I realized that it really is for the teenagers. Naive girls who think the world revolve around them (I mean didn't most teenagers go through that phase)
Now that I'm over 20, love isn't everything anymore. I have to think of others and the situation around me.
And that's why I find Mia cringey af. She thinks love is above all else. Above ML's feelings. She sees ML loves Leanna but she thinks her love is more important. Typical of a shoujo heroine.

But aren't characters like Mia still popular used in the typical shoujos..
The many shoujos I read the female lead was always behaving the same way she is, dense af, naive and that love is above all kinda like...
Well, I've only been reading the shoujos where the female leads are either really indifferent to the other leads, quirky or similar to Leana's persona kind of less cutesy and more elegant or mature.
And where they just think out of the box and see the bigger picture in a realistic way.
