I don’t understand why this is sad? I thought it was sad tears but rather tears of relief. It’s something he couldn’t even tell his best friend but he was finally able to tell someone, that person being his crush and someone he trust and he didn’t respond in disgust and was interested instead of brushing over it. So due to all that pent up emotion and finally able to say it out right was him finally getting that sense of relief and I’m sure Yuan realized how hard that must’ve been for him and showed support by grasping his hand as a sign like “I’m here for you” ╮(￣. ￣)╭
