omg thanks for typing it all out. i swear this dana is freaking useless and despicable. i dont think she deserves anyone and especially not moon. so disappointed since i thought she was gonna be some strong female character. what the hell is her good points?? tell me. high key feel like dropping this right now cos of her. im also reading this just because i wanna know if the village chief dude is really gonna be stupid and used or is he gonna achieve his objectives after all his sacrifices.
Did you forget the time frame the story is portrayed in? Men did have all of the lime light and women were weak. Or more like if they did try to stand up against men they would be killed immediately. All of the women in this story have a strength in their own way ESPECIALLY Dana. She never forgot about Moon and always loved him but she thought that he was dead so she stopped fighting her father and got engaged because the reason she was fighting her father was no longer alive or well she thought that he wasn't anyway
If they try to stand up to men they would be killed immediately?
Ellin stood up to the King, she didn't get killed?
You're romanticising female denigration by branding 'weakness' as 'strength of their own'. Have you seen Dana the whole story? She never had any character development. At first it was okay to see her so weak and undecided, but to see her as the Empress and not maneuver that power into something useful for herself, her subjects, or even for a friend (Ellin), and instead cried herself to catatonia is really disappointing and normalizes women as weak beings who needed to be cared for.
There is no strength is silently loving a man but not showing it through actions. Ellin was able to break away from marrying someone she did not love, and faced a future of solitude because she believed in the man she loved. Dana on the other hand, does not believe Moon capable of things, that's why she keeps on dropping him when the situation becomes too much. Had she truly loved Moon, she would have asked him to bring her along to where he's migrating the night they had sex. Had she trusted Moon, she would have at least waited a few days to confirm if Moon was dead instead of getting engaged again. And no, if you truly loved someone you wouldn't even EASILY say yes to your father to marrying you off to someone because you are mourning the loss of a loved one, Dana could have pretended to be ill or ran away or even negotiated with her father before getting hitched again. Her actions even turned off Moon because Dana shows she is not a loyal partner.
You can romaticize Dana's wishy washy attitude all you want, but by doing so you are supporting a sexist view that women are weak, fickle, damsels in distress. And no, they do not get killed ASAP in the ancient times, you saw what happened to Ellin -she ain't dead.
All we’re doing is acknowledging that abuse victims can feel entrapped. My great-grandmother would get the shit beaten out of her by her husband. He once hit her so hard she went blind in one eye. She eventually got out, but I think she was damn brave for putting up with him as long as she did. Not everyone can get away, and that doesn’t mean they’re weak. You’re acting like it’s easy to get up and leave an abuser, and it’s not. It’s not sexist to acknowledge that victims can have trouble getting away. It’s so horrible to act like domestic abuse victims are weak for being unable to get away from their abusers. We’re not being sexist. I’d say the exact same thing of Dana was a man.
Did you read the webtoon properly? Dana was not abused ALL THE TIME, if she did, don't you think Moon would notice that while they were naked having sex seeing all her flesh?
If she was abused all the time, she wouldn't even have the freedom to sneak away and flirt with Moon at all.
The only time she was shown abused was the night of her wedding where her back was full of bruises. And whose to say it was not the empress dowager who did it instead of the father? And let's not forget, Dana herself admitted that she followed whatever her dad said because she was WEAK, not because she's abused or mentally scarred. She had the audacity to sneak away and get laid by his boyfriend in ancient times, and you call her an abuse victim who doesn't have any fault? Why do you think Moon said she's given up on Dana a long time ago then? Was it not because he knew Dana could have decided to do something else for love, but instead just went along with his Dad DESPITE Dana showing that she's capable of defying her father (sneaking out to flirt, midnight fuck, telling her Dad she's not marrying the first engagement guy?)
Make it make sense.
She doesn't even have any good points, aside from looking good. Moon is just a simp. That's the sad reality.
I also want to drop reading this trash novel (which had great potential initially), I wish someone would spoil me of the ending of who dies and whatnot so I could stop feeling agonizing sexism everytime I read an update from this webtoon.
People here in the comment section trying to justify Dana's weak, cheating ass of a woman. Calling Dana strong and shit, like it's strong to cry yourself from wedding night to present chapter... The bar is real low for that hoe.
It was her father. Her father did it to her. You are absolutely insane if you think her father didn’t do it to her, and who’s to say Moon didn’t see her scars?
Abuse victims sometimes blame themselves, but it’s not her fault. She stood up to her father sometimes, but that doesn’t mean she could stand up to literally every single thing. I’m not saying she’s perfect of hasn’t done a single thing wrong like you’re implying. She has. But you’re acting like she’s a weak or something and are slut shaming her.
Moon had every right to give up on Dana. She couldn’t fight for him in the end because her father controlled her entire life. He is by no means forced to put up with that shit. Just because she was abused doesn’t mean he has to put up with her giving up on him. He has every right to leave. In the end, he “died”, she realized it was her father’s intention. The man she loved died, and she basically gave up on life. To say this story is sexist is absolute bullshit.
@okarisu thanks for blocking me so I can't reply to your hate diarrhea.
You are low key a hoe apologist. So it's okay for Dana to have sex with Moon and get engaged the next day without telling him? It's okay for Dana to kiss a man who isn't his loyal husband?
That's a cheater and you're saying it's okay cause it's romantic? Eww, have some respect for proper women portrayal.
Yeah, you read a genre that exists for women to fetishize men. That’s not homophobic at all.
I’m not even fucking trying to say Dana by did nothing wrong. I’m saying she’s an abuse victim and not every single one of her actions was wrong and that you’re dismissing all victims who stay and do what their abusers say by calling them weak.

All the women in this story are horrible.
Dana is the worse. Imagine being so spineless when you're pushed in a corner? And then suddenly she grows balls and kisses his ex WHILE SHE'S STILL MARRIED. Like damn girl, wait at least you divorce your husband. She sleeps with Moon knowing her 1st engagement was the next day? And then she gets engaged the 2nd time right after Moon was announced dead? That's one cold b*tch.
Solhwa at least stood her ground and said fuck it, I'm not gonna marry someone I don't love. But she's also not an inspiring character at all. Her coming from the future didn't help her one bit in her time as a reincarnated girl, she's not that smart too. The author of this webtoon portrays women in such a poor light. All the girls needs to be rescued or they're evil.
Grandma is fucking evil and all the girls she tortured are too weak, the story is set up so the men shine and take all the glory by saving them, freeing them, romancing them. DAFUQ.
And readers here are saying "YASSS WHAT A STRONG FEMALE LEAD" ....WHERE? A strong female lead is someone like Pauliana in the female knight and the emperor, or duchess chloe in 'the duchess 50 tea recipes', Canaria in 'Survive as the hero's wife', Shizuko in 'Sengoku Komachi Kurou Tan!'....
I'm just reading this trash to find out how it ends, but overall, I really hate how the women in this webtoon are portrayed... Objectified as drive for men to do their ends, with no dreams or goals of their own.
