No idea why, could be various reasons like the author hit a writers block and couldn't commit but knows how they wanted it to end. Could be the author lost motivation. Hell the author could have had issues that caused it's discontinuation be it personal or editorial at the time.

no way of telling. Author may have posted about it somewhere but unless u actively look for it and is able to read the author's language then it'll be tough to find out why.
