Y’think you can give a little spoiler/briefing of what he was like??? (I already know most of the overall spoilers) was he colder? Or did the webtoon adaptation make him seem more in love? What makes him so much more likeable in the webtoon?
In the novel, I heard that the emperor was the type to sleep around during the war and actually ordered Pauliana to be r*ped/harassed when she was first captured. He was colder as well, I've heard - but for reasons that come with being a leader ig (but not the best morally).
Manhwa emperor is quite inexperienced with women and respects colleagues when he believes they deserve to be respected. Idk if he was as much of a puppy towards Pauliana in the later parts of the LN, but emperor since the start has held Pauliana in a high regard.
Ig the focus on the novel was more on Pauliana's struggle living in a highly patriarchal rule, and her relationship with the emperor was very slow burn because 1.) She challenges all of these set ideals and rules so his progress towards becoming more likable is shown and 2.) She was the one woman who, of all the power and influence the emperor had, he couldn't have.
I dont like how they downplayed his sexism in the manwha, and not by much because he was still intending on making her join his harem
From all the spoiler discussions I've read,, the LN emperor and manhwa emperor seem so different,,, I'm glad they are tho because idt I'd like manhwa emperor as much as I do now if he really was like LN emperor. Thanks u LN author for allowing the ppl working on the manhwa to make changes
