Lmao I’ve always wondered about that too. I’ve lived in America basically all my life and most people are stand oof-ish most don’t even say hello when you walk by them. The closest thing to affection you can get from an acquaintance (someone who’s not even a stranger) is a hug. Most people don’t go around kissing random people they just met.

yep, hate that too! Yes, in some European and Middle Eastern countries, it's usual to give GOOD/CLOSE friends (only if there has been consent given beforehand) or family (unfortunately, some non-consent here), kisses ON THE CHEEK as a greeting! Usual is one each side, tho some ELDERLY like to go for a total of 4 (or more... urgh -.-; u can get dizzy). Also, in regards to friends, usually fine for females; for and between guys it's sometimes an issue due to relationships (gf doesn't like it or he considers it too intimate from just a platonic female relation) or mild distorted masculinity (as in "guys don kiss"/display such emotion and not necessarily "kissing between guys is gay"). Tho in the Middle East, the guys just go for it lol, and it's not done between non-married/unrelated women and men.
Tho NEVER EVER on the mouth! Big fat NO NO!
Where did it come from that westerners just go around kissing people on the lips??? The farthest I would ever go is to hug someone but only if I know them veeeeery well. Why do they think that westerners are so loose with affection because in reality we really arent.
