It's terrible that this happens in our society. But that has nothing to do with what we're discussing here. There are yaoi with gay people from the start, but there is also a HUGE amount of yaoi that suddenly turns straight men gay out of nowhere...
There’s so much yaoi consisting of straight men turning gay but nobody ever complains about them lol

It seems to me that you kinda hate straight people. I hope I'm wrong. Because, yes, you're right, straight men killing gay men because of their sexual orientation happened and I rarely saw the reverse situation, but what is the meaning behind this statement right there? Why would you say that? It's not because some straight people bullied gays people that you should enter a hate loop and hate on straight persons. We have to love each over. Sexual orientation is supposed to be something intimate anyway, it's not supposed to be known and it's far for being the only thing that define you. So we don't even care if you're gay or straight or bi. Nowadays it looks like people give a lot of importance about your sexual orientation, being gay is seen cool, being straight is seen as being a normie (straight tiktok). I hate this and it looks like to me that you're doing the same. Being gay or straight or bi is not a trend .

Sadly, it's poor storytelling in any genre. The numbers of manga that go in depth about realizing one's own sexuality isn't what they thought are few, compared to this trope made to create and resolve conflict in a few pages; A very convenient wish fulfillment fantasy.
Maybe people just move on because (in here) they're already reading a pirated manga, why to top on that should they go bother the author?
But I can understand why anyone is getting put off by this being used in a gay to straight context.
If this is a genuine question, please consider this:
It's not the same to compare "straight turning gay" to "gay turning straight" because being gay is being vulnerable to society's violence. see: conservative movements that want to take away gay people's rights, parents that disown kids, being killed in the streets. Being straight is being "safe", at least from tragedies that happen to lgbt+ because they are lgbt+, because straight people fit society's conformation.
Tl, dr: maybe it's a double standard, yeah. Maybe we live in a unfair world full of harmful double standards.
I was just bored and typed out all this.
I'm not bored anymore now (Thanks!) So no need to bother replying, I won't engage.
I’m seeing a lot more of it
