im no doctor but it cold be the flue, fever, or Bronchi.... back then people who had strong immune system would recover quickly while those who were weak showed sign of paleness, shortness of breath and would often get cold easily *notice how hosik would get cold reallly easily his hands and face would turn red and it has hard for him to breath... this could of lead him to chest infection aka BRONCHI .. medicine back then wasnt advance like it is today bronchi couldnt be solve with a normal flu or fever medicine because it was directly attacking the lungs...
