I wouldn't say she became softer, because she was very manipulative towards him. I feel like she was more desperate because he was her only hope to live and only leverage over Mielle (?). Also personally opinion, Oscar is really pathetic. Like can't even stand up for himself, no back bone pathetic. But very good looking though.
