Is marriage that important? I know it's proper and official but if you are comfortable with your relationship then it's enough.
If I remember correctly, it's the opposite. Akito has proposed or suggested they get married at least once (I think it's more than once), but Kina has always said no. She's said that she doesn't want to get married, but I don't think she's mentioned a specific reason as to why aside from she just doesn't have the desire for it.
iirc I think she didn't accept his proposal bc he was using the kids as a reason.
