Exactly! LL & XL have 3 children ( 2 bio children -son & daughter- and Su Tang’s son that they adopted)! I only read some of it b/c my brain started to hurt! (￣∇￣") So, LL wants to retire early so he can travel the world w/ XL; their bio son is heir and works to become the next Li family head and pursues a nice young lady... you know how boy meets girl & they like each other, but it goes round & round before they realize their mutual feelings! Blah, blah, blah... I love their bio son, though! However, their daughter causes a lot of drama! Since XL can no longer conceive after she stabbed herself in the stomach to prevent PZ from violating her, she drank a mysterious potion given to her by Ah Wei’s uncle (who’s actually a being from another world), so the daughter was born of an unnatural birth!! (⊙…⊙ ) BTW... That part is in the original story! Ergo, the daughter is drawn to the Wei uncle and constantly gives her parents headaches w/ her irksome drama! The Wei uncle is a crazy otherworldly man (alien) who never stops trying to figure out how the Phoenix reincarnates and etc. But since he’s been warned never to touch XL, the daughter is the next best thing... I guess!
A.N.Y.W.AY. ... Other chapters are side stories about *Chu Chen and how he became loyal to PZ.
*PZ & XL’s past from when he adopted her at age 12. He was basically a grown @ss man who groomed this little girl to be his woman, including raping XL at age 16, forcing her into BDSM, and etc.! That psycho monster PZ was lusting after XL early on and “lost control of himself” as it’s rationalized in the story, which made me HATE THAT GUY even more! (︶︿︶)＝凸 Why else would a young, 20-something year old rich guy adopt a 12 year old girl? This was before he knew she had such an amazing talent, so there’s no way to justify it except to say he was always a % sicko perv!! ╥﹏╥
*Some chapters are about how PZ lives his last days on his deathbed having lucid dreams about a living happy life with XL as if she was never murdered in her past life and there’s no LL to take away his chance of being with her again. ╥﹏╥ But as luck would have it, PZ awakes to realize that he’s ONLY dreaming! It was such a relief b/c you don’t know he’s dreaming until the end of the story! (●'◡'●)
That’s the gist of it! It was a tiring feat ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ and I stopped reading the novel in order to save the rest of my manga-reading-mind for less frustrating stories! I hope this is enough to curb your curiosity! (▰˘◡˘▰)

I think it’s fitting for an arrogant, self-assured man like PZ to be tormented by watching the woman he’s so obsessed with from afar living a happy life with another man, especially his nemesis LL, and knowing that XL will never be his again!
