Rather than homophobia, I think he's trying to protect the group's reputation and dynamic. Like, imagine if two of the members of KARD are actually dating... I feel like some K-netz would be very enraged about it. It's the same with leader-nim's perspective towards dating, he's scared if shit got out there'll be major backlash. He's trying to maintain status quo where everyone just views each other as family.
