Supposedly there’s a time skip so she’s no longer underaged. I think as of now the king just finds her sweet and cute (as he compares her to a rabbit like a pet) and is not sexually/romantically attracted to her. I think he’ll only realize once the story time skips!!! Definitely still valid that you feel odd about age gap, would be a lot weirder if og character wasn’t already like 25+.

True, if the story was real life, would totally find the King’s actions terribly inappropriate but I did do a little looksy at ur reads and see some yaois that are non consensual/ rape. And I mean bro, if u be reading non consensual yaoi shit and be hyping you can’t really read this and suddenly say nah shits weird. In the end I think the story is just for enjoyment & I’ve read the raws so I think future kings actions won’t disappoint you!!

I read everything and usually do the same things. I try to avoid the rape tag as much as possible but sometimes I start reading without looking at the tags especially when they aren’t tagged with non-con. Then I point out “hey this is problematic behavior”. Especially when it’s romanticized. When rape and non-con is addressed by the characters that what happened was not ok I LIVE for it. If the comment section has a lot of people saying “kinda rapey” I add to it or I don’t if I don’t have any additional insights as to why. The worst stories lull you into thinking that it’s all fine and dandy and then BAM RAPEY SEME. Which just make me eye roll and I stop reading the updates. But those are still on my read list
Like you said, stories are for enjoyment. I enjoy aspects of all the stories I’ve read. (Or I hate them and rate them low, but those stay in my ‘already read’ section regardless) but that doesn’t mean I have to enjoy EVERY aspect of a story to keep reading.
And I’m sure I have more non-con stuff that I read many many years ago when I didn’t think it was too problematic. My life views have changed since.
ALSO WHERE IS THE NON-CON TAG. Anytime I pull up a new yaoi manga that looks like it could be good. Has nice art. But turns out to be dubious consent at best??? There are no warnings or tags for that. Or at least they’re not on the popular tag list so they just don’t show.
Seriously wish mangago would make it so that you could filter mangas that had subjects like that if you didn’t want to read them

Just to list a few so yeah. You can read and enjoy stories but also acknowledge there are problems with some of these things

I’ll keep reading because I like the main character and am interested to see where this story is going. But the king is pretty trash. And I will call out the fact that hey, there’s some pretty problematic stuff that’s happening and it’s being romanticized.
