The other servants didn't need the water. The girl specifically went to the hot spring/lake under the pretense that she was collecting hot water to wash the dishes. (It was actually an excuse to check on him.) But the other servants didn't feel the need to go out of the way and collect hot water for their chores. They were fine w using cold water.
