I absolutely adore the first one. I feel really bad for the male lead, and honestly, I don't think ANYONE, male or female (and I'm not going to disillusion myself and say that I am different), would be able to take that abuse (physical and mental) but it's nice to think that such a level of love and devotion actually exists. I hope I can find someone that I could be that devoted to... of course, I would love to avoid that kind of situation altogether. Sorry that it's a rather lengthy comment, but I think I found a new favorite story.
