I think talking abt periods wasnt taboo or anything during the victorian era and even if it is the main reason they never talked abt it was because it was a personal thing. Doctors back then (men btw, since female doctors was a myth at that time) saw periods and basically said yea damn women are wierd and classified period as an illness and people back then didnt exactly fancy the act of announcing ur sick (people easily die from illness back then cause lack of meds and other issues) so naturally people would like??? Avoid them??? I think ?? it was so personal that most women didnt even write it down their joirnals. It was a "me" thing back then so sharing it wasnt an option
