Ya thats valid. I guess this author wanted to hit a different sentiment than regular BL's do. But with the way the story was going it works but it was not completely necessary.
I agree. I feel like this could've gone a different way with a more valid reason but I respect the plot
I get the sentiment but that's... a really shallow reason to have idk, I partially don't get it and i think it's because he's kind by default. but I get the feeling of not wanting to get involved but not to the point I'd distance myself from others
