ummm... I don't think they knew that she was being abused.
Because from what even the FL said herself was that she (the original Senianna) was kinda brat-like and threw a crap ton of tantrums. She also never showed any signs of being abused. The fact that the blonde brother held himself back from patting her head or the like shows that he wasn't aware of the abuse and thought that Senianna hated him or smth because of the way she acted around the family. Plus, the "original" FL BARELY hung out with her family and since they were all born from different mothers it's not like it was strange that the siblings weren't chummy with one another.
ADDITIONALLY, the way they reacted when they had conclusive proof that she was abused by that b*tch proves that they didn't know. Her family wanted to kill that b*tch and the b*tch's father for trying to cover up their sh*t and even offering to fking compensate... like wtf?!
For the "attempted" suicide thing... imma go back to what I said earlier... the way the original FL acted and all the tantrums she threw and barely talking to her family... I guess they thought it was depression that drove her "mad". Plus, in that era there weren't such things as "therapists" or "support groups"... people just had to become "better" themselves and if they couldn't... it was suicide, which was disgraceful to the family's name and honor and it's even worse if your family was high-ranking in society. (Disgusting, I know, but it's how things were)
Sorry for this essay lmao but I just wanted to clear things up bc I don't think her family is guilty bc they reacted they way people would during that era. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

no worries about the essay! i see ur point in the possibility that they did not know the extent of the abuse but as i recall in an earlier chapter, the brother looks and treats her with contempt bc she didnt stand up for herself against the redhead. and all of them treated her coldly after her suicide attempt also, so for me it indicated a lack of concern for her life and wellbeing. until she "proved" herself to be useful and with with skills did they start to take her side.
yes their reaction with anger can indicate they didnt know all the details.. but the coldness before to her suicide attempt really set the stone for me with their uselessness. like the OG mc really did pass away with no justice.. They might not have known the details, but they also were not active in trying to stop the abuse and now are switching up so quick smh

Actually, if you re-read typical.anime.otaku, he said how people in those days were thinking. Suicide was a big thing that could drag all the family down. It's only normal for them to look down on her when she was "egotistical" and didn't even think of what her act could bring to others. Sure, they shouldn't hate her for that and go ahead with this. But wasn't it what they did in the end? Because they saw their sister (and granddaughter) becoming way more confident. It's not about skills, it's about confidence. They were not expecting anything great from her cooking if we look at the "She might have hidden her skills". What truly made them change their view of her was the confidence she was showing now compare to the past.

I completely understand what you're saying, but one should also remember the fact that these guys are in a pretty fked up family. 3 children that come from 3 different mothers and now the 4th possible wife (thank god she's not going to be the wife!) and a very strict grandfather... you can't think logically with a family that has a background like this one. If you notice, ALL the members of the family (yes, even that b*tch) have confidence in everything they do, the way they think, act, feel, do anything is all with confidence. So when they saw that this girl has none of that and constantly distanced herself with the family and when she actually DID interact with them, it was with spite and hatred... yeah it's KIND OF understandable why the family was growing a little tired of her childish behavior. Let me give you a real-life scenario, let's say that you are a parent and you notice that your child is becoming more recluse and "bratty" and when you try to talk to them, they lash out and swear at you.... As a parent, you'd think that something is wrong at school, so you try to help your kid out by helping from behind the scenes, but that only makes things worse for the kid. So you try to help and talk to them again (the kid), but their attitude towards you gets even worse. As a parent, you realize that there isn't much to do, but try to support your kid by the basic and daily necessities until the kid is finally brave enough to talk to you. That's EXACTLY the same with our FL! If the grandfather had said something and fought EVERY battle for the FL, he would be making things worse because that b*tch would've made things much more difficult for our FL. Therefore, when the FL revealed exactly how BAD and how FAR the abuse had gone, the family was furious. So yes, they knew that she was being "bullied" to SOME extent, but not to the point of wanting to kill herself.
Again, sorry for the essay! :)

oop thank you :') yes one of my fave characters.. a fashion icon and great friend heh
and i get ur explanation, with the timing and how she was perceived from her fam so their reactions kinda make sense :/ just hopefully now she is able to live in peace during this timeline.. i want the maids fired too oopp
They KNEW she was being abused before... to the point of committing suicide.. Now that she has proven her "worth" and abilities they choose to protect her??? THEY LOOKED DOWN ON HER AFTER HER ATTEMPT ALSO.. nah the grandfather and brothers are trash
And all that abuse "solved" in one chapter.. this is too ridiculous. it would be better if they faced the same things she did.
like i dont feel like justice has been served. THOSE maids should also be tortured too. the ideal would be that she leaves the family.. open up her own restaurant and live in peace
