I do agree. It's like years of her neglect didn't exist and they are the only ones who have power to punish those who they feel wronged Penelope now. Even though they practically allowed it to happen.

Uahwyusuwhw i remember crying so much at this scene when i read the novel and now im sad again. I honestly really just wanted Penelope to refuse that "goodwill" from the Duke. Who cares if he and Derrick burned down an employment contract and fire that maid, theyre assholes too. For all I knowbtheybcan just be doing that to save face and satisfy their own guilt. But theyre still horrible to her. Penelope never asked to ba a part of that family. And to think that the MC also goes through that shit pre isekai. Its just too sad.
