was there really a need to have her eye thing go away? i think whatever ml she got with would be more satisfying if they didnt focus only on her looks, i mean look at todoroki and zuko ffs

Its seems they burned her because of her eyes(it was probably right before they were going to kill her). She didn't wear the mask because of the burn from the young age but from her eyes...

Yep, the burn wasn't the problem. It was the eyes themselves that brought hate.

Yeah authors will always bend over backwards to make sure the FL is conventionally attractive before they get to have any notable character growth, success, or happiness.

There are plenty of swordswoman FLs, but have you ever seen one with noticeable muscle or scars? The overweight FL is usually a staple of the isekai into the villainess genre, and they ALWAYS, become supermodel skinny asap after the soul swap, death, or time travel. The sickly/terminally ill FL usually doesn’t get an immediate glow up at the beginning of the plot, but somehow no matter how severe the illness is, it never manifests in an unattractive appearance (jaundice, gauntness, skin issues, etc…).

It’s to the point where the traits and changes will make no sense in terms of the rest of the plot, but authors still make ridiculous plot holes and plot reaches to endure the FL is or becomes conventionally hot, even if it doesn’t actually make sense
