From what I recall in the raws the lover burned himself bc he got obsessed with the seme who’d been put into an arranged marriage (but the engagement clearly fell through bc... well... reasons)

I agree with the other commenters, the seme's trust is broken because all along he thought it was mutual pleasure doing DS...but what I disagree on, I think the seme felt more burdened rather than guilty, recalling a past fling that got too angry he's doing other people too and decided to burn himself in front of the seme. I think the seme feels sad that a would-have-been perfect M partner turned out too attached to him and it stifled him.
Thing is, I hope the uke dates someone else and let the seme see that shit. If the seme feels anything at all from seeing that, then I'll know he caught feelings too. But if the seme doesn't give a shit, then all the better they ended things because the uke deserves a reciprocal relationship not some fake fantasy of a loving relationship.
