You make it seem like Jinyao was partly at fault. He explicitly mentioned that he only needed an escort and that she will be compensated. He only chose her as the escort because the professor introduced her to him. BUT she goes around spreading rumors and paying reporters to spread news about Jinyao being her boyfriend and sugar daddy even if SHE KNEW he wasn’t. Of course, she would feel regretful because she knew she did something wrong. BUT that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be held accountable for her mistakes because she has it hard.
Yes of course, I’m not saying the shit she did should be excused, but the only option for her to be dropped out of college is just not sitting right, there could be many other options of her taking some form of punishment than not studying.

she did what she did, and through what we have been shown she is a plain jerk. She is a ADULT she made her decision and is now going through the consequences.
And yes, all she wanted to do was get away from her family, but that was at the start. Her goals soon changed and if all she really wanted to do was just that then she wouldn’t cause problems and she would just study and stuff.
Of course you can feel sorry for her but that doesn’t mean others have to either.
