Honestly it isnt actually like that, the rushed romance was more towards one girl and he seems pretty set on her, the reason it was rushed cause it like never says how long theyve known eachother and he confessed that he LIKED her, mind you he didnt say love, right after she finished nursing him back to health, hope this helps more or less
Ah forgot one thing, he starts young and then you have a timeskip to where its like 5 or 3 years later, so technically no, he didnt go straight for girls
