It's still too early for me to rate this. There isn't much about what happened to the ML. Except for some hints, we don't know why he changed so drastically. And the FL is like a naive girl who falls in love too easily for the person who literally stabbed her to death. Perhaps there's a secret as to why the ML ignored and treated her badly in their previous life? Because right after her reincarnation, we can already see the ML is in love with her, not something that have yet to be developed. Perhaps he did love her in their previous life, but something prevented him from showing it? That something is something he figured out along the way but was too late to avoid. The only thing he could do is to start earlier, hence, brought him to the point where he killed his wife. And the ML mentioned that he "saved" the FL. I think there's more to it than him being an asshole. What if that something was something that can potentially harm/corrupt the FL? He might've thought it was better to start over than letting the FL harmed/corrupted by that something. So, in other words, he "saved" her from that something.
I believe he prevented her death by stabbing her with some kind of magic to turn back time. And that was likely in order to start over and get her to trust him. What happened to our female lead was probably preventable had she known Khalid was someone she could rely on.
