That's cuz they don't know how to write it properly. Either the Mc turns into a lovefool doing everything with the Fl in mind or gets an harem that only serves as foil, comic relief and fanservice...
Honestly the only harem where the women are actually useful and not almost totally dependent on Mc is Re:Monster. At least a couple of them are really strong... xD
Okay. The story was good, even though I don't want to have a romantic scene on an adventure-fantasy story. There is a lot of people like me, who doesn't want to incorporate adventure-fantasy genre to romantic genre.
It is because of the flow of the storyline.
If you're writing a story regardless of what genre is that. You must stick to the flow of the plot because one sudden turn can entirely change the whole point of your story.
And also, side dish romance is not bad but to overpower the main genre (for example: adventure-fantasy) is a mistake. That's a no-no.
