This is similar to the author's other work Himegoto Asobi in that the initial impression of the characters are actually quite different than their personalities and so become that much more likable. When I first saw the cover of Nee, Sensei i thought it was about a weak sensei pressured into a relationship by a younger and sadistic student. While I can't completely deny that as the plot I'm actually quite pleased with how it turned out. I've actually been avoiding this manga since i didn't want to read another yaoi like that. Sensei is, though inexperienced, not a push over like most characters in his position. He's still an adult and down-to-earth. And Homura instead of being sadistic is a teenager trying too hard to get with sensei, when he's actually kind of a nice kid. If you like Himegoto Asobi, then I would recommend this one the most out of the author's other works. It takes a typical manga plot and makes it so much more enjoyable by making the characters down to earth. You're not inwardly screaming at the seme for being cruel or shaking the uke for being weak.
