Kusukabe's development of feelings for Kuze are strange to me. I mean, he was ignored and treated horribly by everyone and this one guy just pops up and shows him a bit of kindness and he just goes with it? With very little hesitation, mind you ( I'm referring to their first encounter) Man, I just hope that was the end of their chapters, I miss Azusa and Karino.

For me, Kusakabe's obsessive attachment to Kuze is similar to that of a baby bird imprinting on the first thing it sees. Kusakabe's status as an outcast stems all the way back to his childhood and has only gotten progressively worse thanks to the caste game. Considering that he's currently in a very emotionally sensitive time in his life (he's a teenager who needs a social group of some sort) and he gets physically and emotionally abused on a daily basis, it makes sense to me that he would suddenly develop strong feelings for the first (and possibly only) person who hasn't treated him like a piece of trash.

Your reasoning isn't biased. But think of it this way: Kusakabe has been hated, and bullied...true, but kuze was never hostile towards kusakabe. Kusakabe is aware of this. For someone simpleminded and desperate like kusakabe, it is very clear why he would grab hold of anyone showing even the simplest kindness. So this is one plausible conclusion the author may have been working with.

Mhmm, I see what you're saying. However, I think you misunderstood my comment (which is whatev's, we're not arguing here). So you've been mistreated- or practically abused by your peers and others, and this one person who has never bothered to befriend you in the past suddenly notices you and you're not in the least bit skeptical of this person and their intentions? Even abused dogs hesitate when approached by a new master. I agree with the PROGRESSION of Kusukabe's feelings for Kuze but how it all began is, like I said, "strange". But, I am aware that this is a manga and my complaints mean nothing, I just miss Azusa and Karino.

That actually bothered me a lot too mainly because in real life people would be more hesitatant so they dont get hurt. Kuze looked shady from the start so I expected some reluctance from Kusakabe regardless of whether he was gping to have a friend or not but ay its like you said its a manga not real life. Expected too much realism ig. Still love ogawa chise though!

For a person who never had a friend, bullied on a daily basis, ignored by his peers, I'm not surprised if someone becomes "too" attached to the person who shows them kindness. A bit extreme, yes, but in this world, you can never really assume that one would act and be as rational as most peeps out there.

This might require more psycho-analysis. I'm no master of it, neither do I know shit about it. But I knew what it feels like to feel threatened of having a friend of yours robbed away (though I wouldn't ever feel the need to be violent about it). In Kusakabe's case...he "probably" didn't know how to handle the situation -it's all new to him-, and "possibly" reacted in a way he grew accustomed with - which happens to be violence.

The only problem with the story is that it seems "abrupt" and "rushed." (unlike the first pairing who pans out well). I couldn't blame the author, though. It seems she's doing a 4 by 4 for each couple then mingling the 2 POV's the next (where I expect more shit to happen) which limits the plot development.

I'll be a little bitch about this. But I hope this couple doesn't end yet and hope it takes four chapter -the same as the first one- before it gets back to the first pairing. We both have biases. And just as you like Azusa and Karino. I would enjoy seeing my preferred pairing equal rights as well.

Anyways, Chise is a genius... a cruel one. Say, there are six people on the first cover... do you think there will be a third pairing? Because, now, three-pairings of the same timeline could get a bit boring and repetitive.

Kusakabe is actually quiet similiar with my best friend's condition when i first met her. That kind of person are really difficult to trust someone but once you already get their trust, they'll really depends on you. Anyway.. this manga is so good(๑•ㅂ•)و✧ i need more of them xD

i've been bullied a lot in my life and i can tell you that if you're bullied and have no one to talk to you really get attached to the first one who stretches their hand out.

I'll be honest I've never been bullied before, I mean I've met my fair share of bitches and assholes, but I've never been mercilessly bullied. I don't know what kind of bullying you endured, but some of the kids that were bullied at my school developed thick skin (not saying that you didn't). They knew what kind of assholes we were surrounded by and they knew that if one of them is going out of their way to be nice to you (especially if its someone who has NEVER "stretched their hand out" before) then its probably some kind of awful joke and you're feelings are going to get hurt. That's just the type of school it was. So please excuse me if I just absolutely can not agree with what your saying. But like Baja said I agree with the development of Kusakabe's feelings, I could see that happening in real life, but their should have been some kind of internal conflict within Kusakabe to trust Kuze especially since his school is a hell of a lot crazier than mine and probably yours. BUUUT, like I said this is a manga. Not real life so you can only expect so much and, also, like I said I still love Ogawa Chise

I agree, it was probably a joke if they did that. i never really trusted anyone (hahaha i have trust issues ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭) especialy guys) the kind of bullying i went trough was everyone ignoring me unless they needed me. and then i had three years rest until they started calling me names and trowing tennisballs at me and my friends head... but yes it's crazier than my school
