I dont think its a Yandere Character ... I think that it should be a socialy akward seme who feels for the first time and is hurt ... if he is yandere he wouldnt look so sad while saying that he wants to have something in return
soo.. is the author trying to show us the seme is actually a yandere or what? i'm confused! he didn't look like someone who have yandere side at the beginning tho. author should learn proper "how to Yandere a guy" from japanese mangaka since this didn't get those basics and we left weirded by the sudden 180 personality change.
